Bristol #PROSPECTUS – The End

In 2013 I founded a project called Bristol #PROSPECTUS. The original premise of this project was to create a series of websites that acted as a one-stop-shop reference for Bristol’s distinct areas, listing all businesses, attractions and services, starting with Park Street and the West End.

After a short amount of time it evolved from a static business directory into an engaging, creative hub of content focusing on art and culture, led by a team of incredibly skilled writers and featuring countless collaborators.

We forged relationships with Bristol institutions such as the Bristol Old Vic and Wardrobe Theatre, along with dozens of local businesses (Bristol Folk House, The Square Club) and regional organisations (Destination Bristol, Bristol BID).

Following a couple of setbacks with the project in 2016, I have struggled to find the time required to dedicate to the project around my ‘day job’ role at HarveyDavid and voluntary work with the American Institute of Roman Culture.

As such, in February 2017 I arrived at the decision to close down Bristol #PROSPECTUS to allow me to focus on the aforementioned ventures.

The legacy of Bristol #PROSPECTUS for me personally is two-fold; in creating and growing the project I was afforded many incredible opportunities (highlights being part of the team that got 10,000 people to A Park on Park Street one sunny Sunday afternoon, and being invited to the Houses of Parliament to celebrate the power of independent business), which led directly to where I am now in life, both personally and professionally.

I also met some amazing people, many of whom I am now good friends with, and will continue to be so with for many years to come.

I am immensely grateful to everyone who was involved in, and supported the project over its 4-year lifespan. Special thanks go to:

If know me, you will know that I am not one for standing still when I have an idea. Occasionally though, ideas run their course and others take priority.
