Digital marketing and communications is not something I’ve consciously learnt. I created my first website at primary school aged ten and growing up surrounded by social media means I have a very strong grasp of how digital marketing tools are used. Conversely, I also know how they shouldn’t be used, which enables me to advise on several digital marketing specialisms at HarveyDavid, including:
Marketing automation (Eloqua, Act-On, HubSpot)
Search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click advertising
Social media marketing
Website design and development
What motivates people to buy – human behaviour – has also always fascinated me. As a teenager I set up my first business, trading with suppliers and partners in the United States and APAC (Asia Pacific).
Despite every expectation that I would go to university, I believed that the best option for me was to continue running a profitable e-commerce business and gain more experience.
The opportunity to work at a FTSE 100 finance company took me to Bristol, where I progressed as a consultant to more senior roles in a number of departments.
The invaluable account management and project management skills learned as a young entrepreneur form the bedrock of my approach to clients, allowing me to provide the most professional service and robust project support possible.
If you’ve ever seen my Instagram profile, you can’t miss my enthusiasm for amateur photography and visiting historical sites in the Mediterranean and beyond. When a picture isn’t good enough, it doesn’t make it onto Instagram – a characteristic of all of my work. If it’s not right, you won’t see it until it is.
I am a real history aficionado and I enjoy blending my passion for Italian history with my long-standing interest in digital marketing. I have no formal qualifications or training in the Classics, but delving into the cultural and sociological elements of history gives me a better understanding of human behaviour – even in today’s modern society.
The trail of Roman history has taken me to some incredible places in Italy and over the next few years I will explore more of Europe to experience new cultures and broaden my knowledge even further.
Starting from when I built my first website aged eleven, I have always followed trends in new technology, looking for ways I can use these for the benefit of both my clients and my professional ventures.
